About the site

The National Repertory Orchestra (NRO) had three goals: build a centralized database of alumni; create a resource for alumni looking for career advice, job opportunities, etc.; develop an interactive and focused way for alumni to keep in touch with one another. To achieve all of this we created an online networking application allowing NRO alumni to create and manage dynamic online profiles, list themselves as a resource for other alumni looking for assistance, and search for alumni. We also built tools for site administrators to verify members as actual alumni before allowing them to register, membership reports, data exports, and profile management tools. The entire NRO Alumni site was built from scratch using Ruby on Rails.
